Throughout Christian experience, preaching has held an important place. Through sermons, faith has been nurtured, strengthened, and challenged to grow.
The links below are recordings of actual sermons that I have preached at St. James Lutheran. Each is based on the prescribed gospel for the day according to the Revised Common Lectionary.
Each sermon lasts around ten minutes and is designed to make connections between God's Living Word and our lives.
My Dad, who worked for years rolling tires in a warehouse, told me that what he appreciated most about a sermon was when it gave him something to put in his pocket to think about midweek. I think about that often as I prepare to preach and I hope that there are at least a few things in these sermons to put in your pocket to shine a little light on your path - Walt
